Motorola Moto G82
Introduction:
In a long overdue review, we take a look at the Moto G82, a
mid-range smartphone from Motorola. Its first debut occurred in May of this
year. Now that it’s here and its price has fallen below $300, the G82 is also a
pretty intriguing item. The Chinese market has access to the Moto G71s variant,
therefore the G82 might be seen as an upgraded Moto G71 5G.
Comparing the G71 5G to the G82, you’ll find that the latter
offers superior functionality at parity with its cost. Since last year there
was no G81 in Motorola’s Moto G series, this year we have a new mid-range
option.
The Moto G82 has a 6.6-inch 120Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon
695 SoC, and 6GB/128GB of storage by default, which is par for the course for
smartphones in this price category. A microSD card is included in case you run
out of space. A 5,000 mAh battery is built in, and it’s compatible with 30W
quick-charging via cable, so it’ll be ready to go in 2022.
Unique among smartphones in this pricing range is optical
image stabilization for the main 50MP camera. Although we applaud the company’s
efforts to provide optical stabilization in even its most cheap phones, we are
concerned about the small ½.76” sensor size. That’s a tad on the low side,
compared to what we were hoping for. A decent pair of glasses may be a big
assistance, but they are by no means required. Sometimes Motorola has a hidden
gem, and the G82 might join that select club.
Because of this, you should continue reading to determine if the Moto G82 is really a worthwhile investment or whether one of its competitors, such as the Samsung, Xiaomi, or Realme, is a superior choice.
Unboxing:
The phone comes in a standard box containing the usual stuff like user manuals, a 33W charger and a USB-A to USB-C cable for data transfer and charging.
